just that random week update...

so we've been home almost a week. never in my entire life would i actually think i could possibly miss a place so much. i was there a week, and i miss it more than anything.
coming back to the states i had to watch myself to not be frustrated w/ ppl. tho i still am slightly. we have SO much here, and we're unhappy. thats the thing that gets me the most. here, in the USA we always want MORE. more STUFF. i was sitting in church on Sunday, and i actually felt depressed. there was like nobody smiling! i didnt understand! while in Haiti, i didnt understand most of the church service, and it was the best one i've been to in my life.

i guess this is kinda just my rambling on stuff. mostly i just want to say that i miss haiti a bunch, and i cant wait to go next year! it was an amazing time and God was SO awesome during that trip! thanks for everyone who i met and who gave up their time to go! i love you and miss you all!

Laura Sprance's Pictures

Here are several great pictures that Laura Sprance sent to me. Thanks Laura!

God's Providence

On the last day of our trip, several of us, including Dr. Daves planned a trip to voodoo mountain. The pastor from that area phoned early in the morning to tell us that a torrential rain storm washed out the road. Our trip was cancelled, much to our dismay. We later learned why God did that. A missionary came in to the surgery center with a gunshot wound. He was the victim of an attempted robbery and was shot in the wrist. Dr. Daves, a former general surgeon before specializing in women's health, was able to remove the bullet. Had the road not been washed out, all the pressure would have fallen on Dr. Bozeman, or else our missionary brother would have had to await treatment. God always knows what He's doing!

I hope these links work!!!

Brad and I almost missed out flights out of PAP but luckily we were able to leave our checked bag for Monica to bring back, so they let us run to get on the plane. Our flights were really close together with one unannounced gate change!! But we made it back to KY safely. Now I just have to make it through this last semester of school.

Also I have talked to Elveus and Rolgard and they told me that Shilove came back to St Louis within the last couple days. He is doing well. They said it will take him about 6 months to fully recover, so continue to keep him in your prayers. I would also ask that you pray for the music program that I will be starting up. Pray for the kids that will be joining and that this can be more than just a band, but a great evangelism tool as well.

Thanks guys, I had a great time getting to know all of you, even though the trip was so short!!! Maybe we will all be back in Haiti again sometime together!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

We left the mission compound at 3 AM on Saturday morning, March 17 in the back of a pickup truck. Twenty-four hours later I laid my head down on my pillow back in Butler, Indiana. In between, we rode on six airplanes, a train, a minibus and an automobile. It was an incredibly long day and very abrupt ending to what was a great trip.

I've put together this little blog so everyone who went on the trip can share their pictures and stories. I hope each of you do! If you have any questions, contact me by clicking here.
